Bordeaux - city where all streets look the same



Is the main city of the region under the same name, which boarders with the ocean on the West and with Dordogne on the East. The city is located around 50 km into the land over the very wide river Garonne. The river was very important from the historical point of view. In the 17th / 18th century thanks to the port and connection to the ocean Bordeaux reached the peak of its development. Most part of the old city was built in this time, which can be recognized by typical for this time period harmony and order.

Nowadays, Bordeaux is no longer the sea trading power. The city is suited for young people who go out in the afternoon and enjoy theirs lives.

During our stay stream of the river as direction into the land because of the tides of the ocean. Therefore, it had really strange color (even brown).

The sightseeing of the city may be really fast. Hence, it all looks the same, the visitors should see the bridge (Pont de Pierre) and the oldest part of the town located on its southern side. Including cathedral, several churches and so-called city gates.




The most famous product of the region is wine, which is produced by each sixth inhabitant. Vineyards starts in the suburbs of the city and they surrounds it. In each part is produced different type of wine, because of a different type of soil and distance from the river. Through the centuries wine produced in the region archived fame in whole world. While the vineyards were honored by the prefix Chateau.
